Masterpiece Monday:

Thank you Coach Schwartz!

Image

Coach Ron Schwartz served as Sacred Heart Schools' Athletic Director from 2009 until he passed away in February of 2016. When he arrived at SHS, Mr. Schwartz inherited one of the largest athletic programs of its kind and expanded it steadily, building rosters of students, coaches and volunteers who will forever carry his influence in their hearts. He took great satisfaction in helping students develop leadership skills and discover joy in their physical abilities, as much as in winning games and titles.

Mr. Schwartz never lost the drive to improve himself to better serve his students, gaining advanced certification in the field of athletic administration during his years at Sacred Heart. He attended as many weekend games as he could, far more than his position required, and always cheered with gusto. He was also known for making sure the Campbell Gymnasium was kept in perfect order and all facilities and equipment were treated with respect.

This week, we are honoring Ron's memory by naming one of the Campbell Gymnasium scoreboards for him – the very scoreboard under which he regularly sat to cheer on our basketball teams each season! The dedication service will take place in the gym this Friday, May 12 from 1:15-1:30 pm, immediately preceding the annual Faculty/Staff vs. 8th grade volleyball and basketball games. You are invited to join us!

Honor the gifts that Coach Schwartz gave to our athletes.

All gifts in memory of Ron will support the

Financial Aid pillar of the Masterpiece Campaign.
