Inspiration from the SHS Facilities and Maintenance Team

The Masterpiece Campaign - particularly through the Initiative for Excellence in Teaching and Learning - has allowed Sacred Heart Schools to more deeply invest in our faculty. At the same time, many of our personnel have been investing their own time and resources in the Schools, in both the work they do each day, and in their own contributions to the Masterpiece Campaign. We celebrate them!

Last fall, when given an opportunity to support the Masterpiece Campaign, the entire Facilities and Maintenance staff, led by our Facilities Director, John Ptak, came together and pledged gifts to the Campaign. We were inspired by their generosity, so we asked them to share some of their thoughts as they pledged a portion of their paychecks back to Sacred Heart:

What about Sacred Heart Schools most inspires you?
"Having the opportunity to experience the care, compassion, wisdom, and professionalism of the men and women who have been chosen to teach the children of Sacred Heart Schools. The qualifications of the teachers are outstanding. The Hardey boys and the Academy girls are well spoken and their accomplishments are vast in all school related courses. Their sportsmanship is also worth mentioning; they are fine examples of acceptance and fair play."
What made you choose to support the Masterpiece Campaign?
"The Turf Field is a prime example of how the money will be spent. It is important to have a safe outdoor space that all the students can use, so the field is a true asset to the Schools' accomplishments."
What involvement have you had in Masterpiece capital improvements?
"We have witnessed the construction and installation of many of the capital improvements such as the Turf Field, STEAM Lab, and the new classrooms. We are involved in maintaining the new additions while keeping the highest of standards."
What is your hope for the future of Sacred Heart Schools?
"It is our hope that Sacred Heart Schools continues to thrive and be a premier educator in the City of Chicago, as well as all of their sister schools globally. It would be wonderful if every child could experience an education comparable to what we offer to our students."
