Engagement in the arts nurtures young people's development of aesthetic values, their creative use of imagination and their connections with one another. A multi-tiered arts program with attention to the visual arts, dance, music, and theater is essential for providing young people structured opportunities to experience multiple means of self-expression and to share their knowledge and gifts with others.
We seek to:
Develop innovative means to further integrate fine arts into the K-8 curriculum
Take full advantage of the Chicago area arts community by bringing in and going out to arts activities
Extend art gallery space throughout the school
Expand drama production offerings
Renovate Campbell Building stage and provide new stage lighting
Include drama and dance instruction as components of curriculum.

"Imagination...requires stimulants: there is no stillness of mind in which the perception of beauty and harmony and fitness can grow up."
