Two Sacred Heart students have qualified for the United States Olympic Swimming team:
Lia Neal (pictured right), an 11th-grade student at the Convent of the Sacred Heart school in Manhattan (91st Street), and Katie Ledecky (pictured left), 15-year-old sophomore at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart.
Hailing from Brooklyn’s Flatbush neighborhood, 17-year-old Neal made the Olympic team Saturday night after coming in fourth in the 100-meter freestyle. And Bethesda's Ledecky won her spot on Sunday evening's 800-meter freestyle final by setting a new record.
