Ways to Give

There are many ways to make a tax-deductible gift to Sacred Heart Schools. No matter which method you choose, your support is deeply appreciated.

Check, Credit Card and Money Orders

Online: Click here to make a credit card gift today!  It is also possible to fulfill a gift through automatic installments charged to your credit card on a monthly or quarterly basis. Simply click on the Recurring Gift option to initiate.

Mail: Mail your check—made payable to Sacred Heart Schools—or credit card information to:

Development Office
Sacred Heart Schools
6250 N. Sheridan Road
Chicago, IL 60660-1730

Telephone: Make your contribution by calling the Development Office at (773) 681-8409.

Foundation Gifts: Gifts made by a private family foundation or donor advised fund on behalf of an individual or family will be credited to the donor’s giving record, as appropriate. Please notify the Development Office at (773) 681-8409 of any intended gift through a foundation to ensure that it is correctly attributed.

Support Sacred Heart while you Shop or Search

Many merchants have programs which offer Sacred Heart a percentage of your shopping purchase or Internet searches if you have registered in the program. Depending on the program, you can register online, in person, or through Sacred Heart. If you already patronize these merchants or use any of the following sites, please consider supporting Sacred Heart in this way!

Target Take Charge of Education: Target will donate 1% of your purchase when you use Target Visa or Target Credit Card either in store or at Target.com, and ½% of purchases made with the Target Visa card anywhere Visa is accepted. Go to www.target.com, and search for “take charge of education” to make Sacred Heart (ID# 5782) your designated charity.

GOODSEARCH.COM: Visit www.goodsearch.com and designate “Sacred Heart School – Chicago” as your charity. For every search you conduct through the www.goodsearch.com search engine, Sacred Heart will receive one cent. This can really add up!

Pledge

A pledge is a promise to make a specified gift within a designated time period. Annual Fund pledges can be accepted over the phone; pledges to other campaigns should be made in writing by mail or e-mail. Pledge payment reminders are typically mailed semi-annually in December and April.

Annual Fund pledges should be completed within the fiscal year in which the pledge is made. Major gifts for endowment or capital purposes are often completed in installments over multiple years.

To make your pledge today, contact the Development Office at (773) 681-8409.

Marketable Securities

Please notify the Development Office if you will be transferring stock or other securities to the Schools. Contact the Development Office at (773) 681-8409.

Broker information:

If you have any problems with the transfer, please contact the Controller Maggie Nass, in the Sacred Heart Finance Office at (773) 681-8412.

Wire Transfer

A wire transfer, or electronic funds transfer, can be made from one bank account and directly deposited to Sacred Heart’s account. Please contact the Development Office at (773) 681-8409 for additional information to initiate the transfer.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many corporations will match gifts to educational and religious institutions. Matching gift programs are a great way to double or triple the size of your gift.

Find out more about matching gifts and whether your employer can multiply the impact of your gift to Sacred Heart.

Planned Gifts

Wills, charitable remainder trusts, and life insurance policies offer the opportunity for leaving a lasting legacy to benefit future Sacred Heart students, while providing the donor with income, tax, and personal benefits. Learn more about making a planned gift.

Gift-In-Kind

Fill out the Gift-In-Kind Form to make a donation of goods or services rather than cash or appreciated property.

Tangible Personal Property

Items that have appreciated in value such as books, works of art, coin collections or antiques may be given as charitable gifts. The charitable deduction depends on appraised value. Gifts of personal property are accepted if they can serve a worthwhile purpose in the life of the Schools.

The Schools are entirely self-supporting and do not receive subsidies from the Catholic Church or the Society of the Sacred Heart. As a 501 (C)(3), not-for-profit institution, gifts to Sacred Heart (Federal Tax ID #36-2170839) are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. All gifts made between July 1 and June 30 are recognized in our Annual Report, mailed in the fall each year.
