Tuition Assistance

Sacred Heart Schools’ Tuition Assistance Program is administered through the Finance Office. To execute this program in a fair and systematic way, Sacred Heart partners with FAST to process tuition assistance applications. Based on the information submitted online by you, FAST processes applications and estimates the amount your family can contribute to educational expenses. We balance the demonstrated need with the Schools’ policy and available budget.

2017-2018 Deadlines and Important Dates

Failure to meet the following deadlines jeopardizes your opportunity for tuition assistance.

For current school families, as well as siblings entering Kindergarten and new Kindergarten students accepted via Early Decision 2017-18

  • January 6, 2017: Deadline to submit your Tuition Assistance application
  • January 27, 2017: 2017-18 enrollment contracts distributed via email
  • February 8, 2017: Award notification letters are distributed via email
  • February 10, 2017: Enrollment contracts and deposits due and Tuition Assistance Award acceptance receipt due
  • March 15, 2017: Deadline for submitting supporting tax documents to FAST
    • Awards are not final unit all required supporting tax documentation is submitted to and verified by FAST

For new families applying for admission in 2017-18

  • January 6, 2017: Deadline to submit your Tuition Assistance application for the first round of awards made to new students
    • Applications will continue to be accepted until the assistance budget is fully expended, but requests generally exceed funds.
  • Upon acceptance: Families are provided with details of their Tuition Assistance award shortly following their acceptance letter. The Tuition Assistance award acceptance receipt is due along with your enrollment contract.
  • March 15, 2017: Deadline for submitting supporting tax documents to FAST
    • Awards are not final unit all required supporting tax documentation is submitted to and verified by FAST

For new families applying for 2018-19 Kindergarten Early Decision

  • February 16, 2017: Deadline to submit your Tuition Assistance application
    • This is not an award. Sacred Heart will provide an estimate of what you may qualify for in 2018.
  • March 3, 2017: Notification of Early Admissions Decision and Tuition Assistance estimate for Kindergarten 2018-2019

Steps to Complete Your Tuition Assistance Application

  1. Gather all documents necessary to complete your tuition assistance application including pay stubs, car and housing information, monthly budget, utility bills, etc.
  2. We require financial information from all adults involved in your child’s life – both custodial and non-custodial parents along with the child’s step parent(s). In the case of divorced or separated parents, each parent is required to submit a tuition assistance application and all required documents. FAST will guide you through this process.
  3. Submit your completed application to FAST by January 6, 2017. There is a $43 non-refundable fee payable via credit card to FAST to complete the application.
  4. As a special incentive this year, Sacred Heart will grant a fee waiver to the first 20 families that complete the Tuition Assistance application. Please email tuitionassistance@shschicago.org to request a waiver. You MUST have entered all of your information into FAST and be ready to “check-out” before you request the waiver.

  6. Complete and submit your federal and state income tax forms. Copies of your 2016 Federal Income Tax Return (1040) and State Income Tax Return, including all required schedules and W–2/1099 must be scanned or mailed directly to FAST prior to March 15. Upon submission of your application, you will receive an email from FAST outlining the document submission process. We will not be accepting any documents via email or dropped off at Sacred Heart.

Once you leave Sacred Heart’s website or are redirected to FAST®, you are no longer governed by our website’s privacy policy or terms of service.
