Mission Statement

The mission of Parents of the Heart is:

To create community among families by providing opportunities to participate in social activities at the school;

To sponsor activities to raise unrestricted funds for the school;

To provide opportunities for members to participate in community service activities;

To work in conjunction with the school's administration to provide education and enrichment opportunities for parents through workshops, lectures and seminars on timely topics.

Dear Parents,

It’s hard to believe that we are already in the second semester of the 2016-2017 school year! Parents of the Heart (POTH) has had such a remarkable and rewarding year thus far. I can’t thank the Committee Chairs and volunteers enough for the creativity, energy, spirit and dedication they have given to our beloved school.

Currently, there are four parents—Katie Cherry, Catherine Denny, Mary Ann Hoey and Kelly Owens—working with an incredible team of parents planning our biennial event, L’Esprit de Sacré Coeur. This year’s theme is: “It’s a Sacred Heart World.” Please join us on Saturday, March 11, 2017 as we celebrate the Sacred Heart community and raise vital funds for the schools’ academic mission. In the spirit of Goal II, we will present the 13th Annual Sacred Heart Goal Award posthumously to former teacher, Wenche Haverkamp.

There are many ways to support L’Esprit prior to the event. Please visit the online auction for amazing Sign-Up parties, Teacher Treats and some Chicago favorites. The online auction closes on Sunday, March 5, at 10 pm. And you should have received the blue envelope that came home via Kidmail with exciting details and tickets for the L’Esprit Chicago Superfan Raffle!

I look forward to celebrating our Sacred Heart World with you on March 11. Please contact me at with any questions at any time.
