Our strategic plan establishes a clear process for setting priorities, focusing resources, and strengthening operations. It aligns our community around shared goals rooted in our mission and vision and provides a roadmap to guide key work, decisions, and actions toward a successful future. Board-approved, the plan directs administration and staff in developing and implementing action plans to achieve its goals.

A Strategic Plan Working Group comprised of approximately 10 parents and trustees worked from September 2023 to June 2025 to oversee the strategic planning process, analyze input, and make key plan recommendations to the Board of Trustees regarding the 2025 Sacred Heart Schools (SHS) Strategic Plan.

The Strategic Plan Working Group:

•Conducted a SWOT analysis, listening sessions, and interviews with key personnel

•Used this feedback to attain input concerning Sacred Heart’s strengths and opportunities for improvement.

•Held multiple Listening Sessions for staff, parents, students, community members, school leaders, and board members.

•Identified key themes

•Used the key themes to craft the updated strategic plan.

Once the four key priorities and thirteen initiatives were identified, the Board of Trustees approved the Strategic Plan in June of 2025. The Leadership Team then helped identify the action steps underneath each initiative.

The nearly 150-year tradition of academic excellence, the strong and vibrant worldwide Sacred Heart network, the connection with Religious of the Sacred Heart (RSCJ) and our endowment provide a tremendous source of strength for Sacred Heart to embark on this strategic exercise. Sacred Heart on Sheridan Road has an exceptional, historic academic program supported by excellent faculty & staff along with an incredibly active community. The education at Sacred Heart is mission-driven; rooted in a traditional single gender experience within a co-educational environment, resulting in a “best of both worlds” approach well-tailored to ensuring all children are known & loved. We are recognized within the Network for our principled devotion to our Sacred Heart identity that is thoughtfully woven through all aspects of our education.
