Arts
Sacred Heart's Fine Arts department is about opportunities for creativity. We believe that engagement in the fine arts helps to lead our students towards becoming well rounded young people.
100% of our students in preschool through 8th grade participate in fine arts classes as part of their core curriculum. Our fine arts opportunities extend beyond the classroom into vibrant extracurricular programming including the Spring Musical, Theater Performance Workshop, Band, Glee club, Advanced Chorus and Liturgical Choir as well as individual music lessons.
Students are able to display their talents through a variety experiences.
For our visual artists, Gallery Night is held every May.
For our performing artists, each spring a fully staged musical is presented on our campus stage by Middle School students. Most recently, our students performed Anastasia the Musical. Our first ever all campus musical will be coming this spring, including students in grades 1-8.
Theater Performance Workshop demonstrates the talents of our 4th-8th grade students in a showcase of musical theater at an off-campus theater.
Justice Day, held every January near to MLK Day gives students the opportunity to explore social justice through the musical, visual and theater arts.
Our music curriculum includes public performances throughout the year, highlighting the many skills learned in music class. Performances also highlight the work of the Glee Club and Advanced Chorus.
