Sr. Catherine I. Seiker, RSCJ Award Nominations

Nominate a classmate or an RSCJ for the Seiker Award! This award recognizes those whose life exemplifies, to an extraordinary degree, the values and standards that Sacred Heart Schools represents. Nominees for the Sheridan Road Alumni Association's highest honor are due April 30. Click here for more information.

Easter Reflection

Welcome, Ann Chiumino! 

Sacred Heart is delighted to welcome Ann Chiumino to the role of Assistant Development Director, Alumni Relations.

 

A former attorney, Ann left a fulfilling but demanding legal career so that she could devote more time to her young children and her husband, Evan Knott.  Ann and Evan's daughters—Lauren A1 and Helen A4—are students at Sacred Heart, so when Ann decided to re-enter the work force, she opted to forego her legal career and put her efforts instead into the school's Office of Alumni Relations.

Students Meet Chelsea Clinton

Academy ladies had an amazing opportunity to meet author Chelsea Clinton on March 9 at a book signing at Anderson's Books in La Grange. Ms. Clinton reached out to Sacred Heart A3 teacher Christine Meade via Twitter. Ms. Meade organized the trip for the girls and their families to get signed copies of "She Persisted Around the World" and to chat with Ms. Clinton. Read the full story here

High School Alumni Party

Calling all high school alums! Come join us for pizza and snacks to catch up before the Middle School musical. The party is on Saturday, April 21, 5:30-6:45 pm at the Driehaus Center, 6200 N. Sheridan Rd., then we head to the school to watch "Into the Woods Jr." $5 admission, pay at the door. Click here to RSVP. Looking forward to seeing you there!

 

Spring Congé

Come and catch up with classmates and other alumni! Sheridan Road Alumni Association cordially invites all parents of alumni and alumni ages 21+ to Spring Congé on Thursday, April 26, 6-8 pm at Roscoe Village Pub, 2159 W. Addison, Chicago.

Get involved!

Would you like to get involved with the Sheridan Road Alumni Association but can't commit to being a Board member or don't live in the Chicago area? Please consider being your Class Representative. It's a great way to reconnect with your Sacred Heart classmates. There are also opportunities to assist with the many Alumni events throughout the year, everything from working on a planning committee, lending your name as a host committee member, or assisting at the events. If you would like to help out while working with some terrific alumni, please contact alumni@shschicago.org.

In Memoriam

James Forsman Stokes, husband of Mary Nelson Stokes ASH'53 and brother-in-law of Noel Trees ASH'59, died peacefully on March 1.

 

Winnifred "Winnie" Chambers Clark ASH'61 passed away on March 7.

 

Kip Kelley Sr., father of Kip Kelley II H'78 and Kimberly Kelley A'76, grandfather of Ferrill Kelley A5, passed away in November 2017.

 

The Sheridan Road Alumni Association sends condolences and prayers to the Stokes, Clark and Kelley families. May their loved ones rest in the peace of the Sacred Heart.

Around Sacred Heart Schools

 

Let Your Music Be Heard

Sacred Heart Schools is looking for original music compositions from alumni and current students to use in future video projects. Compositions can be of any genre and can be instrumental or lyrical. Please send all submissions via an audio recording or a video of the song to the SHS Communications Team. Similarly, let the team know if you have music already available on iTunes or a similar platform and that can count as a submission. Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis.

 

Sacred Heart Launches Podcast Series

Admissions Coffees

If you are considering enrolling your child in Sacred Heart Schools, an Admissions Coffee is the best place to start. Remaining 2017-2018 Admissions Coffees will be held on April 18 and May 4.
