"Wherever you go, whatever road you may travel, SANTA ON SHERIDAN On December 7, Sheridan Road parents and their families gathered at the Driehaus Center with laughter and good cheer for a chance to see Santa! In-between photo ops with the man in the red suit, kids enjoyed crafts, coloring, hot cocoa and sweet treats. Many thanks to hosts Paula Bork ASH'93 (H3, JK), Angela Pawlicki A'96, Toni-Marie Gonzalzles Wahlberg ASH'93 and Alex Wyman H'91 (A3). Parents of Alumni Holiday Party On December 10, parents of alumni and former faculty and staff celebrated the holiday season at the Parents of Alumni Holiday Party. This year we had two very special guests—the recipients of the Sr. Catherine I. Seiker, RSCJ Award and the Sr. Carol A. Haggarty, RSCJ ASH'59 Leadership Award, who are Anthony Nichols H'54 (ASH'93) and Liz Connelly (A'08, H'10, H'13, and A'18), respectively. We were honored that these two distinguished parents of alums were able to celebrate their achievements once again.
A big thank you to our event hosts (photo below): Michael and Laurie Bish (A'09, A'11, A'14, H'14, H'18), and Ron (not pictured) and Maureen Sippel (H'04, A'08), and Michael and Kristie Edwards (H'11, A'12, H'15). Alumni Concert On December 17, alumni and current Sacred Heart singers gathered together in the Chapel for the third annual Alumni Concert. This event is special because alums of all ages come back to Sheridan Road, have a short rehearsal, and then perform both holiday and non-holiday songs with current students. This year, featured soloists included Ricki Pettinato H'08, Isabella Nebolsky A'15, Alex Kerr A'19, Will Ehrlich H'17, Peyton Lee A'19, Jesse Beier A'19, and Henry Jones H'19. A huge thanks to Justin Nixon, Fine Arts Director, for a beautiful evening of music. Alumni Class Notes Sheridan Road alumna Elizabeth Johnson Zimmer ASH'68 recently corresponded with Sacred Heart and provided an update about her brother, Dr. O. Kenneth Johnson, SJ H'65. Fr. Ken has worked in Africa since 1993, spending many years in Zambia. Currently, he is in Malawi teaching at a medical school. Additionally, he is a surgeon for the local hospital and surrounding area.
Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff ASH'89 recently published a book called "The Truth is No Defense." Ms. Wolff credits Sacred Heart—and her 8th grade social studies teacher, Mrs. Felix—for teaching her about the U.S. Constitution, which has impacted her "knowledge of and appreciation for the First Amendment."
Congratulations to Kristen (Soelter) Zang A'96 and her husband, Hagen, who recently welcomed their third daughter, Madelyn. Kristen and Hagen also have 2-year-old twins, Taylor and Hannah. Since graduating from Sacred Heart Schools, Noelle Wojciechowski A'13 has been extremely busy! After finishing high school at Saint Ignatius College Prep, where she received the Jesuit Student of the Year Award for the class of 2017, she went on to Boston University's Kilachand Honors College, with a neuroscience major and a minor in public health. As a junior, she received early acceptance to Boston University's Modular Medical School program. Noelle still attributes her success to Ms. Steele, Ms. Feeley, Ms. Roderer, Ms. Haverkamp, and of course, Ms. Patterson, to name a few. Thanks to Ms. Patterson's binder technique, she says that her organizational skills have continued to serve her well! If you would like to share life updates, good news, or photos, contact Ann Chiumino or update your information here. In Memoriam Susan Kennedy ASH'61, daughter of Dot Lurch ASH'32†, sister of Kael Kennedy H'55†, and sister-in-law to Pamela Kennedy ASH'60.
Virginia McFarland, mother of Nat Wilburn, Head of Schools, Sacred Heart-Sheridan Road.
The Sheridan Road Alumni Association sends condolences and prayers to the Kennedy and McFarland/Wilburn families. May the departed rest in the peace of the Sacred Heart.
