December 2021 Dear Graduates of the Academy of the Sacred Heart and Hardey Preparatory, Sheridan Road is abuzz with activity as students and educators alike experience the magic of December on campus. Students and families are collecting and distributing much-needed items for our annual Howard-Evanston Area Community Center drive. Parents are extending their gratitude to Sacred Heart educators during the Faculty-Staff Appreciation week. And all community members are anticipating the Kindergarteners' gift of the Nativity Play. Though in years past the entire school gathered at neighboring St. Gertrude Parish for the Gaudete Mass to launch the Christmas holiday, due to COVID restrictions, some community members will attend Gaudete while others will experience Lessons and Carols. Sheridan Road is always magical, but with the school's rich holiday traditions, December at Sacred Heart Schools is unparalleled. We wish you a very blessed Advent and Christmas season and much health and happiness in 2022. Should you wish to accompany our students and families on their Advent journey, please access our electronic Advent Calendar here. A Winter Gift from Head of Schools Meg Steele Ms. Meg Steele, Head of Schools, returned to Sheridan Road in July to begin her appointment as Head of Schools. Meg began her career on Sheridan Road 18 years ago serving as a Primary School teacher and then Primary School Division Head. And so, it is fitting that Meg read some of her favorite children's books for our community. Here enjoy Meg reading The Mitten by Jan Brett, released during our first snowfall. |
