Jennifer Jalovec A'84 has worked in the humanitarian aid sector in complex emergencies for over 20 years in Somalia, Haiti, Liberia, Guinea, Kenya, South Sudan, Uganda, Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar and Timor-Leste. In July, she was in Ukraine as Response Team Lead for Medical Teams International. Based out of Dnipro, 60 miles from the front lines, she heard gut-wrenching stories whose common themes were a love of Ukraine, a strong spirit of volunteerism and the unselfish desire to take care of one another. It is a beautiful place filled with resilient people.
Lauren McClusky A'04 organized Nelarusky, the annual official Lollapalooza aftershow on July 26. The event raised $70,000 for Special Olympics Illinois, totaling over $500,000 raised over the history of Nelarusky. Lauren started it 15 years ago to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics as well as showcase upcoming talent.

Ben Dukes H'15 won a silver medal with the US Men's coxed four at the Under 23 World Rowing Championships in Varese, Italy. He's a senior at Syracuse University, studies mechanical engineering and is on the men's rowing team.
Lily Pember A'18 qualified for the USRowing Under 19 Women's National Team, rowing in the 8+. Her team won gold in the World Rowing Championships in Varese, Italy and set a new world record.
