Applying to JK or SK

Our JK program continues the joyful environment of preschool while building upon children's growing curiosity and confidence. Children enrolled in JK will move seamlessly on to SK the following year, no further admissions process will be required. 

Applicants to JK will be 4 years old by September 1, 2023. 

Our SK program expands to include children from many great preschool programs across the Chicago-area. Our Regular Decision option allows families to apply for SK the year before they wish to join SHS. 

Applicants to SK Regular Decision will be 5 years old by September 1, 2023. 

Our Early Decision option for SK allows families to apply now to hold a space in our 2024-25 SK program. This is a great option for families who are currently part of a preschool community other than Sacred Heart's. Children receiving early acceptance remain at their current preschool for it's 4-year-old program while parents are assured a space is waiting for their child in Sacred Heart's SK. 

Applicants to SK Early Decision will be 5 years old by September 1, 2024. 

STEP 1:  APPLY

Apply by December 2, 2022 to be included in our first round of decisions

Submit your application via Ravenna. Be sure you select 2023 from the drop-down list at the top of your screen. Note that JK and SK Early Decision share the same application. You will be able to indicate a program preference on your application forms.

STEP 2:  SCHEDULE A Parent meeting

Available most weekdays, October through February

Meet with a member of the Admissions Team to share information about your family, discuss the admissions process, and ask your questions. All parents/guardians are encouraged to attend.

STEP 3:  SCHEDULE YOUR CHILD'S Applicant Meeting

Available weekday mornings, October through February

Your child will meet with a member of the Admissions Team for 20-30 minutes to complete a few simple, age-appropriate activities. Anticipate a relaxed, unpressured experience. 

STEP 4:  SUBMIT A TEACHER RECOMMENDATION

Due January 1, 2023

If your child is enrolled in a preschool program, please send their current teacher the Lake Michigan Association of Independent Schools (LMAIS) recommendation form, available electronically through Ravenna. 

If your child is not enrolled in a preschool, another care-giver or instructor familiar with your child may complete the form.

ADMISSIONS NOTIFICATION AND Enrollment agreement

For applicants to JK and SK Early Decision who have completed the admissions process by February 16, notifications will begin March 3. 

For applicants to SK Regular Decision who have completed the admissions process by January 12, rolling notifications begin January 24, or as openings allow.

Enrollment agreements are due March 13 or one week following notification, whichever is later.
