Overview
Sacred Heart’s Student Life program seeks to enrich and expand students' artistic, academic and personal development so that their learning extends beyond the classroom.
After School Classes
On most school days, 50-150 students remain on campus after school to participate in extracurricular activities. Students can take a range of After School classes from dance, music lessons, arts and crafts to cooking, learning languages and playing games. Special groups like Girl Scouts and Science Olympiad are also offered after school. Depending on the activity, students are given the chance to enhance their creative and analytical thinking skills, engage in hands-on learning, interact across gender and age-ranged groups, increase their self-confidence and presentation skills through performance opportunities, all while having fun!
Core After School Program
After School care is offered throughout the year from the end of the school day to 6 pm for SK-8 students. The Core After School Program activities include peer tutoring, computer time and outdoor playtime. This extended daycare program is provided to our families free of charge.
Athletics
Nearly half of our student body participates in athletics after school. Sacred Heart offers football, golf, volleyball, soccer, softball, basketball, cross country, baseball and track.
Fine Arts
Sacred Heart offers a variety of ways to help students develop and celebrate their artwork and musical talents, both during and after school.
Additional Opportunities
Some special programs Sacred Heart offers are Schools Rock, Justice Day and International Night. Each of these events highlights the talents of our students or their entire families.
Class trips help students explore new places and learn about areas they are studying in their classes. The 6th graders attend a Ropes Course in Wisconsin in October. The 7th graders travel for a week to Alabama for Space Academy, and 8th graders travel to Washington, DC, for a week in May to visit various historic sites.
