"Teach children the words of life and touch their hearts and their consciences."
- St. Madeleine Sophie Barat

Guided by the vision of our foundress, St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, we believe that all children are known and loved by God. Our commitment to transmitting this message through education is alive more than ever during these uncertain times. When our campuses closed in March, our teachers and staff were prepared to pivot to remote teaching and learning and respond quickly to the needs of our PK-8 students. They engaged our students with learning experiences and activities that delivered the Sacred Heart mission as well as helped them stay connected with their teachers, classmates, and community. Our teachers and staff also continued to support the whole child’s well-being by providing opportunities for students to grow emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

While Sacred Heart Schools is planning to return to campus in August for on-campus teaching and learning, we are also preparing for the possibility of remote learning at some point. We hope the information here-videos of remote learning from each Division and parent testimonials will be a helpful resource to you and illuminate how our teachers and students adapted and thrived during this time.

Preschool

“Sacred Heart has exceeded my expectations when implementing remote learning. Mrs. DePalma and the preschool team has made remote learning engaging and exciting for students. The incorporation of Google Hangouts has helped my child stay connected to his teachers and classmates during a time when it’s hard to explain why he can’t go to school and see them in person. Also, the team is continuously modifying the lesson plan to keep students engaged while having fun! Even my two-year old is participating in the activities and walking around singing the Spanish songs!” - Preschool parent

Primary School (SK-Grade 2)

"I am very grateful that my daughters attended a school like Sacred Heart during this very unsettling time. I felt that the school did an amazing job getting e-learning up and running quickly and in a way that didn’t start out with panic. As the e-learning process evolved, the teachers found ways for the students to see each other’s faces everyday which we all found comforting and a great way to connect when you felt far from your buddies. Thanks, Sacred Heart!" - Primary School parent

Lower School (Grades 3-5)

"Throughout these unprecedented and challenging times, I have never been more proud to be part of our Sacred Heart community. Together we have found new ways to stay connected and support each other. Together our educators have worked hard to keep our kids motivated, encouraged and learning in a way that’s never been done before, all while making sure that each student gets the resources they need to succeed. Together we have adapted and evolved with remote learning in ways where my kids have grown personally and academically while gaining independence and accountability for their learning. Whether in the classroom or remote, there’s no place I’d rather have my kids being educated than here at Sacred Heart!" - Lower School parent

It shows such urgency around learning and amazing loyalty to the SHS Goals and mission. I am very grateful for your team and how they have stepped up. I know it is a lot of work for all, but it is much appreciated." - Middle School parent
