Welcome

Dear Sheridan Road Alumnae/i,

Throughout the school year and summer, alumnae/i come back to visit Sheridan Road to see their old classrooms, the cafeteria and playgrounds, and talk to faculty and staff. They share memories of 8th grade pranks, Congé, and favorite teachers. Overwhelmingly, these alums also express that they had - and continue to have - a strong feeling of being welcomed as part of a community.

On Sheridan Road, we realize that the alumni network is founded on, and continues to grow organically from, the special relationships that our alumnae/i share with the school and with each other. The relationships between alumni remain strong no matter how many years separate them from their last day of school together. That is why every person who attended Sacred Heart Schools on Sheridan Road - regardless of graduation status - is considered a member of the Sheridan Road Alumni Association (SRAA). You are always welcome back to Sheridan Road, no matter how much time has passed.

Please note that membership is also open to anyone living in the Chicagoland area who attended any of the schools in the Sacred Heart Network.

The SRAA wants to remind all alumnae/i that Sheridan Road was a special place, and we need your help to maintain our strong alumni base. The goals of the SRAA are to strengthen ties between graduates and/or former students of the Academy for Girls, Hardey Preparatory for Boys, and the Academy of the Sacred Heart/Convent of the Sacred Heart High School; strengthen ties between Alumni and current Sacred Heart students and families; and to foster activities, programs, and services by Sacred Heart alumni to advance and promote the Goals and Criteria for Sacred Heart Schools.

As a member of SRAA, we ask that you keep in touch - whether its by attending meetings, updating your contact information, or attending Alumni Weekend. There are many diverse ways to re-connect with Sheridan Road, and we would love to find out what ideas you have as well!

We look forward to catching up soon.

Continue the Tradition

Dozens of current students are the children of alumni, and some families have returned to Sacred Heart for generations.

The Sacred Heart community continues to grow - we opened a preschool Fall 2019 ! We are currently accepting applications! Sacred Heart offers Preschool 3 and Junior Kindergarten. For more information, please email preschool@shschicago.org.

The Early Decision process for Senior Kindergarten still begins at age 3. Visit the Admissions to apply today.

October 10: Working Bikes Drive

For the thirdyear in a row, the SRAA is hosting a bike drive. On October 10, please bring your bikes, bike accessories, parts, etc. to Sheridan Road between 10AM and 3PM for a great cause!

The SRAA is once again partnering with Working Bikes, a nonprofit organization that gives used bikes to those in need. Every year, Working Bikes ships over 6,000 bikes to Africa and Central America, and fixes over 1,000 bicycles for individuals and organizations in Chicago.

Over the last two years, Sheridan Road alumni, parents of alumni, current families, and faculty/staff collected nearly 150 bicycles and countless parts and accessories.

If you have any questions, please contact Ann Chiumino
