Science Olympiad is a team activity for students in grades 6-8 to learn skills involving engineering, problem-solving, experimentation and research. Students may participate in two of more events. Everyone is welcome to participate.

The Sacred Heart Math Club is for students in grades 4 through 8 who would like to explore topics of mathematics that they may not encounter in their regular math courses. Students will increase their understanding of algebra and geometry concepts and, if they so choose, use this knowledge to prepare for Chicago-area math competitions.

Pride Alliance is a student-run organization for both allies and members of the LGBTQ+ community. We are middle school students and allies that celebrate different identities including gender expression, gender identity, and romantic interests. Pride Alliance is a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

Each year, Middle School students are elected by their peers to serve as student leaders of the school. Both Hardey Prep and the Academy elect their own slate of officers. This group meets on a weekly to biweekly basis during the Middle School lunch period to plan programs, write policies and discuss student concerns. Student Council oversees school traditions like the Red and White Induction, school pep rallies, the Halloween Parade and Hotdog Lunch entertainment.

Yearbook Club is a student-focused publication club where students work together to collaboratively build the Sacred Heart Schools yearbook each year. Yearbook Club meets to plan page colors and designs, delegate photographers for school events and edit. Joining this club allows students the opportunity to get involved on all levels of the school campus, from interacting with peers and adults, attending school events and actively participating in something that benefits the entire school community.

Alumni Ambassadors reintroduce visiting alumni to Sacred Heart Schools by conducting tours throughout the year, most notably during Alumni Weekend in October.  In addition to designing the class time capsule, Alumni Ambassadors will do community service projects with the Sheridan Road Alumni Association Board, write thank you letters to alumni donors and serve as official class representatives upon graduation.  As this position grows and evolves, students will be encouraged to share and implement new ideas and activities.  Orientation begins in September, and meetings will occur once per month during lunch periods. 

Student Ambassadors introduce prospective parents to Sacred Heart Schools by leading campus tours, answering questions about the school’s mission and programs and sharing their student experiences.  Student Ambassadors may also contribute to marketing initiatives, including video testimonials.  Orientation begins in early September, and training will run through early October, typically during lunch and advisories. Student Ambassadors will be expected to make up any school work they miss while fulfilling their responsibilities during the school day.

Girl Scouts and Brownies provide girls with a joyful, supportive space to grow in confidence, leadership, and friendship. Through hands-on activities, badge work, and service projects, students learn by doing and discover new interests along the way. These experiences encourage teamwork, responsibility, and a spirit of service. Together, girls build lasting friendships while developing skills that empower them both in and beyond the classroom.
