Summer camp is back and better than ever!

We are excited to offer summer camp programs that will provide the perfect blend of academics, summer sports, swimming, and fun! Pricing includes optional early morning care and optional extended day, a weekly field trip, a camp focus class (Summer Sports, STEAM Explorations, and Kids Who Code) and a camp t-shirt!

Little Hearts (3- to 4-year-olds)

Little Hearts is a themed-based half-day camp for our youngest campers! The theme of each two-week session will inspire creativity and engagement in the classroom through counting, learning the alphabet and creating art. Campers will also have many opportunities to build social-emotional skills with guided free-play and sensory activities. Each day camper will enjoy a peanut-free themed snack and story. Little Hearts should bring a peanut-free lunch, drink, and a change of clothes. Campers must be toilet trained.

Skyline Scouts (entering grades K-2)

8:30 am-3:15 pm

Skyline Scouts is an academic and play-based day camp for students entering grades K-2. Campers will start their day with a fitness and focus component that will help them embrace and promote a healthy lifestyle. These activities may include playing a sport or practicing yoga. A theme will drive the learning in the classroom for each two week session. Lessons will be hands-on and span across all subject areas. After lunch and recess, the Skyline Scouts will head to Hollywood Beach for some fun in the sun! Each Wednesday, campers will explore Chicago and take a field trip. Skyline Scouts should bring a peanut-free lunch, snack, drink, and labeled swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and comfortable beach shoes every day.

Windy City Explorers (entering grades 3-5)

Windy City Explorers, get your passports ready! Windy City Explorers is a theme-based academic day camp for students entering grades 3-5. Campers will enjoy a variety of activities including reading, writing, math, science, arts and crafts. After lunch and recess, the Windy City Explorers will head to Hollywood Beach for some fun in the sun! Each Wednesday, campers will explore Chicago and take a field trip. Windy City Explorers should bring a peanut-free lunch, snack, drink, and labeled swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and comfortable beach shoes every day.

Online Virtual Summer Advantage Program (entering grade 6 or 7)

June 24-August 23

*Nine week program can easily be modified to allow for summer schedules and travel

Avoid the summer slide with this flexible, online program which will help students who are entering 6th or 7th grade. Students will complete all SHS summer assignments and projects, review and maintain essential skills learned in their previous grade and preview skills needed for success as they begin their next school year.

Included in the Summer Advantage Program:

  • Initial virtual meeting between student and teacher via Skype or FaceTime to plan summer work calendar
  • Weekly mini math and language arts assignments posted online-to be completed at student's convenience
  • Weekly virtual meetings when needed (approximately 30 minutes) to review assignments, answer questions, re-teach skills and check summer work progress
  • Access to helpful "Surviving and Thriving in Middle School" tips (for rising 6th grade students)
  • Platform to ask questions about the transition to Middle School (for rising 6th grade students)
  • Availability via email for checking in throughout the week with questions and concerns

TPW: Theatre Performance Workshop (entering grades 3-8)

Session 1: June 17 – June 28

Performers will be part of a two-week-long adventure which includes learning and creating choreography, selecting and singing songs, generating show order, planning costumes and props for a Broadway Musical Theater Review performance at the end of the session. The camp will end with a culminating performance on Friday, June 28 for campers and parents from 10:30-11:30 am on the SHS gym stage. Students must bring a peanut-free lunch, drink, snack, and water bottle each day. Students will need a black base of clothing for the performance.

CIT: Counselors in Training

Summer at Sacred Heart is seeking creative, energetic, organized, fun-loving individuals to possibly be a counselor in the future! The CIT program provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in working with children of various ages. Counselors in training will be supervised by our staff while receiving tips and strategies in working with children and age-appropriate activities. They will also be given the opportunity to teach songs, games, and generate ideas for upcoming lessons and themes. CITs will need to fill out a Counselor in Training application and submit two letters of recommendation. Space is limited and based on a first come, first served basis if applicant meets all other requirements.
