Specialized After School Classes are offered from 4:00-5:00pm each day. Students enrolled in a Specialized After School Class will go to the Core After School program at the end of the school day until their instructor picks them up for class. Once class ends at 5pm, a dismissal is offered on Rosemont Ave from 5:05 - 5:20pm. Should you need to pick up your child sooner, please go through the Portry.
Core After School is the after-school program serving students from Senior Kindergarten through 8th grade from the end of the school day until 6:00 pm. In partnership with the Loyola Federal Work Study program, Sacred Heart students are provided an afternoon of homework support and fun activities in a safe environment. There is no fee for Core After School, however, registration is required to attend. Please sign your student up through MySchoolApp.
We ask that parents send their students with a snack along with weather appropriate clothing, as we spend most afternoons outside.
Late Pickup Fee Policy: For your child’s security and out of respect for the staff, parents must pick up their children by 6:00 p.m. or a late fee will be implemented. The late fee is $25 for the first 15 minutes and $3 for every additional minute after the first 15 minutes per family.
On most school days, 50-150 students remain on campus after school to participate in extracurricular activities. Students can take a range of After School classes from dance, music lessons, arts and crafts to cooking, learning languages and playing games. Special groups like Girl Scouts and Science Olympiad are also offered after school. Depending on the activity, students are given the chance to enhance their creative and analytical thinking skills, engage in hands-on learning, interact across gender and age-ranged groups, increase their self-confidence and presentation skills through performance opportunities, all while having fun!
Sacred Heart’s preschool extended day program is available to preschool families who have chosen the full-day preschool schedule. Preschool extended day hours are from dismissal to 6:00 pm most days school is in session. There is a fee to participate. Financial assistance is available to those families who qualify for the school’s tuition assistance program.
Class trips help students explore new places and learn about areas they are studying in their classes. The 6th graders attend a Ropes Course in Wisconsin in October. The 7th graders travel for a week to Alabama for Space Academy, and 8th graders travel to Washington, DC, for a week in May to visit various historic sites.
