INTERNATIONAL NIGHT
september 29, 2023
Each year our community comes together for International Night, a celebration sharing food and culture, and the beautiful, rich diversity that is Sacred Heart. Kicking off with a warm welcome and the Parade of Flags, children embraced the spirit of the occasion, while adults bonded over hot tea and shared conversations with friends old and new. It is always wonderful to see our goals in action, particularly Goal IV: the building of community.
This event was possible thanks to the Equity and Inclusion Committee, their amazing volunteers, and our special community who so generously participated.
L'Esprit de sacre coeur 2023
march 17, 2023
Thanks to the generous support of L'Esprit 2023, benefiting The Sheridan Road Experience for all our students, we raised record-breaking proceeds. We are immensely grateful to all who attended, donated, sponsored, and volunteered. Immense gratitude, too, to our event Co-Chairs, Carolyn Henderson, Sarah Jamieson, Terese Lomasney, Heather Shaffer, and Tara Shannon.
day at driehaus
november 6, 2022
The Fine Arts Council organized trip to 'Exploring the Art of Architecture' at the Driehaus Museum in downtown Chicago. Adults toured the exhibit 'Capturing Louis Sullivan', while the kids enjoyed their own activities: a craft that involved creating an interior and a private tour designed just for them. This included a visit to The Smoking Room (not typically a place children would be allowed) and the Vault.
holiday luncheon
DECEMBER 1, 2022
Around the holidays, parents gathered for the Parents of the Heart Holiday Luncheon. Sharing delectable food, making new friends, and embracing the joy of the season, this was truly a joyous occasion.
FIELD TRIP TO THE aMERICAN wRITERS mUSEUM
NOVEMBER 5, 2023
Sacred Heart families gathered at the American Writers Museum to learn about the cultural and historical significance of writing in America, the different writing styles and habits of authors, as well as new perspectives on writing. Through fun, interactive exhibits, our youngest creatives were engaged, while there was plenty of interesting information for the adults in the group. Thank you to the Fine Arts Council, under Nicole Simon, Chair, for providing another special opportunity.
First and foremost, I am grateful for the community of teachers, families and parents who share a commitment to (the same) goals.

FALL GATHERING 2023
OCTOBER 13, 2023
Fall Gathering 2023 was a fun night of food trucks and friendship. Thank you to our tireless Co-Chairs, Nicole and Tim Kneedy, Erin and Chris O'Brien, and Susie and Joe Silich. Of course, it would not have been the event it was without the support of our wonderful parent community. Thank you to everyone who attended!
